Andy Hurd

Andy Hurd is currently working as Senior Director of Engineering at Lucid. He has been with the company for five years, first joining as a Senior Engineering Manager. Creating good, quality code that makes his customers happy and solves their problems brings him immense joy. He also loves to share his knowledge through mentoring and coaching of other engineers. Andy previously worked as a Co-organizer at Utah Scala Enthusiasts, helping to strengthen the local community of software developers through monthly talks related to Scala.

Andy attended Brigham Young University (BYU), where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. Before that, he also studied Applied Mathematics at Northwestern University. His education gave him a strong technical aptitude, and this combined with his notable emotional intelligence, makes him a powerful leader that adds value not only to his projects but to his team as a whole as well.
